Elizabeth (Grace) Karambelas is a gourmet food photographer with a keen eye for composition, texture, and light. With a multidisciplinary background spanning photography, fashion design, and culinary arts, Grace brings a deep understanding of visual storytelling to her work. Her journey into photography began organically—what started as documenting her beautifully plated meals during the pandemic soon evolved into a full-fledged artistic pursuit.
Grace’s approach to food photography is as meticulous as it is expressive. Drawing inspiration from photographers like Irving Penn, Hans Gissinger, and Andrew Scrivani, as well as the dramatic lighting and rich compositions of classical Dutch painters, she seamlessly blends fine art aesthetics with commercial sensibilities. Her expertise in lighting, color balance, and detail allows her to craft images that not only showcase the beauty of gourmet cuisine but evoke its mood and sensory richness.
Since 2022, Grace has worked as a freelance photographer, earning recognition along the way. She was awarded an honorable mention for the 2024 James Del Guidice Scholarship at the County College of Morris and was a runner-up in the 2023 Rochester Institute of Technology Photography Competition, with her winning image later featured in RIT’s promotional campaign. She has also won awards in local camera club competitions and received photography credits in various blogs and advertisements. Grace is currently pursuing a degree in Photography Technology at the County College of Morris, with plans to graduate in Fall 2025.
Warm, approachable, yet highly technical in her craft, Grace welcomes collaborations with clients across diverse industries. With a passion for both the culinary and photographic arts, she continues to refine her vision—capturing food in a way that not only delights the eye but tells a story.
